||Freedom of Information
The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority is committed to being open and honest in the conduct of its operations, and to complying with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. We will be honest at all times. We will be open with the public and the media whenever possible, placing information into the public domain, and responding to all requests for information.
We make a wide range of information available to the public through this web site and our sister website for the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (www.ccfe.ac.uk). Our Publication Scheme sets out the categories of information we publish, and provides more details of our approach to information provision.
Please note that the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) owns most of the pre-2008 UKAEA reports including those that relate to former sites including Dounreay, Harwell, Risley, Windscale and Winfrith. You can access the NDA's publication scheme on:
http://www.nda.gov.uk/help/freedom-of-information.cfm and make a request
for information from the NDA on: Enquiries@nda.gov.uk
If you have a specific information request or are looking for a publication not available on these web sites, please Email email@example.com.
Your enquiry will be answered as soon as possible, and always within 20 working days.
There will be occasions when we will not be able to supply all the information requested. But these will only be in respect of information specifically exempted under the Act, in particular when we are constrained by considerations of:
• National security;
• Legal and contractual obligations;
• Our duty to keep sensitive information about individuals confidential.
We will always make clear on such occasions why information is withheld. Members of the public have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner against such a decision.
