Publication Scheme The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (the Authority) is a non-departmental public body. The organisation’s role is to undertake the United Kingdom’s contribution to the fusion energy research programme and other roles as necessary , as dictated by the Secretary of State. The Authority’s Publication Scheme, drawn up under Section 19 of the Freedom of Information Act (2000) aims to set out: • The classes of information published by, or intended to be published by, the Authority as a matter of course. • How the information is, or is intended to be, published. • Whether the material is, or is intended to be, made available to the public free of charge or on payment What is a publication scheme? A publication scheme is a document which describes the information the Authority publishes, or intends to publish. In this context, publish means to make information available, routinely. These descriptions are called classes of information. The scheme is not a list of actual publications, because this will change as new material is published or existing material revisited. It is, however, the Authority’s commitment to make available the information described. Written requests Information not published under this scheme, or not available on the Authority or CCFE website, can be requested in writing, please Email foienquiries@uk-atomic-energy.org.uk. Requests are dealt with in accordance with the timescales of the FOI Act or other relevant legislation (e.g. Data Protection Act 1998, Environmental Information Regulations). Format Normally material will be made available electronically. Paper copies will be made available on request. Information NOT made available In accordance with provisions under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, it must be noted that the Authority may consider withholding information in circumstances where it is subject to exemptions under the Act. Charges In general, the Authority does not charge for information provision, but retains the right to charge for written requests in line with the FOI regulations. Where a request for information would be excessively costly to deliver, the Authority will endeavour to liaise with the requesting body to determine a less costly solution. This decision will be reviewed on the same timeframe as the review of the Publication Scheme. Copyright The material available through this publication scheme is subject to copyright protection unless otherwise stated. If you want to re-use or reproduce our publications, you will need to obtain permission from the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. Applications can be submitted using the contact email or by direct application to the named person responsible for the Publication Scheme (see below). Web links The Authority does not have any control over the location and content of non-Authority websites and whilst the Authority aims to have working links to relevant sites these may from time to time change without our knowledge. Review of the publication scheme The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Publication Scheme will be reviewed annually. Feedback It is important that this publication scheme meets your needs. We welcome suggestions as to how our scheme might be improved. Any questions or comments about this scheme should be sent in writing to the Publication Scheme Co-ordinator below: Maya Riddle, United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Culham Science Centre Abingdon OX14 3DB email: maya.riddle@ccfe.ac.uk Further information More information about the Freedom of Information Act is available on the Information Commissioner’s website at: http://www.ico.gov.uk |
