Culham Apprentice

  Welcome to the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (the Authority) website. The Authority is a non departmental public body (NDPB) within the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). Within this site you will find details of the corporate governance of the Authority, contract notices, Freedom of Information, and historical information.

Originally formed in 1954 to carry out nuclear research for the UK Government, the Authority now manages the UK fusion research programme and operates the Joint European Torus (JET) on behalf of the European Fusion Development Agreement (EFDA) at Culham, Oxfordshire.
